Subject: 20425/Reso/Pub.Hear/Annex/Cash Canyon Road Date: Thu, 16 Sep 1993 12:29:10 -0500 RESOLUTION NO. 20425 A RESOLUTION CALLING A PUBLIC HEARING TO DETERMINE WHETHER CERTAIN TERRITORY ADJACENT TO CASH CANYON ROAD, MORE SPECIFICALLY DESCRIBED HEREIN, LYING CONTIGUOUS TO THE PRESENT CORPORATE LIMITS, SHOULD BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE. ______________________________ WHEREAS, it appears that the prosperity of the City of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and of the territory herein described may be materially retarded and the safety and welfare of the inhabitants and property thereof endangered if certain territory described herein is not annexed; and WHEREAS, the annexation of such territory may be deemed necessary for the welfare of the residents and property owners of the said affected territory and the City of Chattanooga as a whole; and WHEREAS, the annexation of certain territory described herein appears to be for the overall well-being of the communities involved; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That the Clerk of the City Council be and is hereby instructed and required to have published in the Chattanooga Times and Chattanooga News-Free Press, newspapers of general circulation in the City of Chattanooga, Tennessee, on the 26th day of December, 1994, a notice that a public hearing before this body will be held on the 2nd day of January, 1995 at 6:00 p.m., in the City Council Room of the Municipal Building of the City of Chattanooga, to determine whether the following described territory adjoining the present corporation boundaries should be annexed: BEGINNING at a point on the south side of the Tennessee River on the Marion County and the Hamilton County line; thence, along the south side of the Tennessee River and the north line of tax parcels 2, 5, 2.1, 3.1, 6, 7, 8, 10, 10.1 and 11, Hunnicutt tax map 116, to a point on the south side of said river and the existing city limit line, being also the line between District 1 and 2, and being also the north west corner of parcel 13, map 116; thence, in a southerly direction along the aforementioned west line of parcel 13, map 116 and the east line of parcel 11, map 116 to the north line of Cash Canyon Road; thence, crossing Cash Canyon Road, to the most eastern line of parcel 10, map 116, and continuing to the most southeastern corner of said parcel 10, said point being the common section corner of sections 9, 10, 15 and 16, Township 2 South, Range 5; thence, in a westerly direction along the south lines of parcels 10, 8, 7, 6, 3, 2.1, 5, and 2, map 116, to the southwestern corner of parcel 2, map 116, and the Marion County and Hamilton County line; thence, in a northerly direction, along the said county line to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
